6/16 Update. New OmiCam video footage and updates to the software. The OmiCam Editor is available for both Windows and OS X.
8/28 Update: I have received my OmiCam and have posted a hands on review.
I was sent some new footage taken with the almost finished product. I have uploaded them to my public google drive account, if you haven’t accessed it yet here is the link to access Public 360 Content Folder as well as the MySight360 / OmiCam Folder link. Along with the new videos there has been some improvements on the desktop application for the 360 footage. Version 1.01 has been sent to all the backers and can download and test what I would call a beta release of the product. Glad to see that they are asking for feedback and input for what to change or what to do on it.
I have downloaded and installed the Mac OS version. Let’s take a look and see what it looks like.
Looks like from the options that they are going to enable you to output the video resolution to either FHD 1920 x 1080, 2.5k 2560 x 1440 or 4k 3840 x 2160. There is also options for photo output resolution at 2048 x 1024 and 4096 x 2048. It is a nice feature to be able to select what resolutions you want to have, some platforms that you want to share on might not be able to handle the higher resolutions so instead of having it compress your 4k footage, you can instead upload a lower resolution and hopefully keep more quality without the compression affecting the video or image.
Another interesting feature is the Custom Logo insertion. Because the camera is only 240 degrees and not a full 360 degrees there is going to be an empty void similar to the 360 fly 4k or any other non full 360 cameras that have a smaller degree fish eye lens on them. This is nice, because you can then upload whatever type of logo for you or your company.
